Medical emergency in Gaza: helping patients reach care
In Gaza, patients are dying or seeing their health deteriorate because specialised care is out of reach. Pont de Mer Humanitaire supports individual cases that remain blocked between families, doctors, hospitals, humanitarian organisations and public authorities.
A medical need is not enough: a pathway must also be opened
In Gaza, many civilians no longer have reliable access to specialised medical care. Hospitals are under extreme pressure, infrastructure has been damaged and some treatments can no longer be provided locally under appropriate conditions.
Pont de Mer Humanitaire helps coordinate pathways to care by identifying urgent needs, verifying available information, preparing or structuring case files and connecting families with relevant medical, humanitarian and institutional contacts.
Our role is not to replace medical, humanitarian or institutional actors, nor to decide on evacuations. We help create an operational link among patients, families, healthcare professionals and partners able to assess a referral or treatment option.

What we do in practice
Identify priority needs
Identify critical medical situations that may require referral, specialist assessment or another realistic route to care.
Verify available information
Gather and verify the medical, administrative and family information needed to understand the situation and guide the case.
Explore referral options
Identify hospitals, doctors, humanitarian partners or institutions able to assess an appropriate option for the case.
Coordinate the relevant actors
Facilitate communication among families, healthcare teams, receiving facilities, humanitarian organisations and competent institutions, within the applicable frameworks.
Identify the blockage, make the case file actionable, find medical capacity and connect the actors who can decide.

Clear commitments, without false promises
Pont de Mer Humanitaire acts as a facilitator. The association does not decide on an evacuation, visa or hospital admission; those decisions belong exclusively to the competent authorities and facilities.
- Review each request without promising an evacuation
- Collect only the information strictly necessary
- Protect confidentiality and medical data
- Act with the consent of the people concerned
- Open a case only when realistic support can be considered
- Attribute decisions and outcomes accurately to the competent actors
Every situation is handled on a case-by-case basis. Pont de Mer Humanitaire commits to rigorous follow-up and transparent information, never to an outcome beyond the association’s control.
