External perspectives

Press and Media

Since 2025, regional and national media have been following Yaser’s journey, the citizen mobilization, and subsequently the actions of Pont de Mer Humanitaire, founded on February 16, 2026.

Before the creation of Pont de Mer Humanitaire, there was Yaser, welcomed in Concarneau, a family remaining in Gaza, and a mobilization built to alert, protect, and seek solutions.

Since the summer of 2025, regional and national media have documented the different stages of this story: Yaser’s exile, the emergency faced by his family, the citizen mobilization, the structuring of advocacy, the birth of the association, the evacuation to Egypt, and the reunion.

This page gathers these external perspectives. It clearly distinguishes the founding mobilization of 2025 from the action officially carried out by Pont de Mer Humanitaire since its creation on February 16, 2026.

Historical Landmark

A mobilization that became an association

Pont de Mer Humanitaire was not born from a pre-conceived project. The association was built progressively, through contact with a real human situation.

In 2025, the priority was to support Yaser and mobilize around his family who remained in Gaza. As medical, administrative, humanitarian, and diplomatic obstacles appeared, a conviction was formed: the experience gained could be organized, strengthened, and put at the service of others facing the same disruptions in access to healthcare or education.

The creation of Pont de Mer Humanitaire on February 16, 2026, marks this transition from a citizen mobilization to an organized humanitarian structure. It does not rewrite what preceded it: it embraces the legacy and seeks to transform it into a sustainable capacity for action.

What is the status of the journey?

A milestone reached, a journey still in progress

The evacuation from Gaza to Egypt constituted a major step. It did not, on its own, provide a sustainable solution to all the needs for care, protection, and family reunification.

Pont de Mer Humanitaire continues its work of documentation, coordination, and mobilization of competent actors, without promising a decision that depends on third-party authorities, institutions, or humanitarian mechanisms.
