PROTECTED PATHWAY · CAIRO

Evacuated from Gaza. Still without effective access to leukaemia care.

We support a mother of three, now living in Cairo. Her identity and her children’s identities are protected.

For more than a year, the treatment and follow-up of her leukaemia have not been reliably provided. Her husband remained in Gaza.

This is not a personal fundraiser. The association documents a pathway and mobilises resources to address the gaps identified: care, household stability, education.

CONTINUITY OF FOLLOW-UP

Five points to sustain over time.

The medical continuity of R.’s pathway. Decisions remain with the treating medical teams.

Referral

Identify a facility able to manage the pathway.

Examinations

Organise the required examinations and laboratory tests.

Treatment or follow-up

Maintain the care decided by the competent medical teams.

Laboratory monitoring

Link the documented monthly test and quarterly analyses.

Monthly continuity

Track appointments and needs over time.

“Egypt has become extremely expensive, and the financial and psychological burden has become very hard for my family and me to bear.”

— The woman we support, Cairo
WHY BASIC STABILITY IS ESSENTIAL

Care cannot continue if the household collapses around it.

She lives in Cairo with her three children. Their father is in Gaza. Rent, food, bills, care and schooling all compete for the same, very tight budget.

When rent or food can no longer be paid, care becomes secondary. Then schooling and school transport.

Health authority building in the context of a medical pathway.
FROM A RIGHT ON PAPER TO EFFECTIVE ACCESS

Coordination must reach the institutions that can actually act.

We work at the interfaces: medical information, healthcare facilities, international coordination and the realities of daily life in Cairo.

The goal is simple to state and hard to sustain: turn an incomplete referral into a functioning, monitored care pathway.

WHAT HUMAN SEA BRIDGE WILL DO

Funding a documented pathway, not publicly exposing vulnerability.

We document needs, identify and coordinate suitable medical facilities, monitor the pathway and allocate funds according to verified priorities. The woman we support does not appeal to the public: the fundraising is carried out by the association.

CONNECTING PEOPLE, SKILLS AND INSTITUTIONS.

Human Sea Bridge facilitates access to care, coordinates pathways and opens up prospects beyond the emergency.
