Press & Media
Since 2025, regional and national media have followed Yaser’s journey, the citizen mobilisation and then the work of Human Sea Bridge, founded on 16 February 2026.
Before the association, there was Yaser, welcomed in Concarneau, a family still in Gaza, and a mobilisation to raise the alarm, protect and look for solutions.
Since summer 2025, regional and national media have followed every stage: Yaser’s exile, the emergency his family lived through, the citizen mobilisation, the advocacy, the birth of the association, the evacuation to Egypt and the reunion.
This page brings these external perspectives together. It distinguishes the founding mobilisation of 2025 from the association’s work since its creation on 16 February 2026.

A mobilisation that became an association
Human Sea Bridge was not born from a project written in advance. It took shape in response to a real situation.
In 2025, the priority was to support Yaser and his family, who had remained in Gaza. Faced with medical, administrative, humanitarian and diplomatic obstacles, a conviction took hold: this experience could serve other pathways facing the same disruptions in access to care or education.
On 16 February 2026, the citizen mobilisation became a humanitarian association. The association takes on that legacy and aims to turn it into a lasting capacity for action.
Two periods, one human continuity
On one side, the founding citizen mobilisation. On the other, the association’s work since 16 February 2026.
The founding mobilisation
The first publications speak of Yaser, his host family and a citizen mobilisation in the making. They are not coverage of the association, which did not yet exist.

A milestone reached, a journey still under way
The evacuation from Gaza to Egypt was a major step. On its own, it did not provide a lasting solution to all the needs for care, protection and family reunification.
Human Sea Bridge continues its work of documentation, coordination and mobilisation of the competent actors, without promising a decision that depends on third-party authorities, institutions or humanitarian mechanisms.
Editorial status updated on 16 August 2026. On 13 August, Ouest-France published a new article on the Al Rayyes family’s wait in Egypt and on the open letter of 11 August. Read our news article · Read the open letter.
Turning attention into capacity for action
Media coverage has helped make visible a human situation and the obstacles surrounding care pathways in crisis settings. Your support helps Human Sea Bridge document needs, mobilise partners and fund the next achievable steps in medical or university pathways.
